GUIDES FOR HOME LEARNING (Students)

As we begin week two of this incredibly challenging and unprecedented time, I would like to extend my thanks to everyone who has contributed to ensure that the academy has been able to support both our most vulnerable students and those whose parents’ jobs are critical to the Covid-19 response.

I have felt a tremendous sense of pride seeing both my staff and students working together as one, and this further reinforces my belief that together we are stronger. In particular, my thanks go to all parents and carers for your support and understanding; it has not been easy to plan for the unknown!

School work is set up on-line and the vast majority of our students have been accessing and completing this from home. The very few students who are in school are being looked after well and are working hard. Frequent hand washing and social distancing are in place for both staff and students! Staff are on a rota and we ensure that there is always a first aider, safeguarding lead and member of SLT on site.

Keeping the academy open for those students detailed above is our small but crucial contribution to keeping the country going and supporting the fight against Covid-19. We are naturally all concerned about the spread of Coronavirus, and we must all ensure that we are following government guidance to ensure that transmission of the virus is minimised. Please find below a link you can go through with your children to support any questions they may be asking you:

Through this crisis, it is clear how valued human connection and community is. If ever there was a message to fall out from this difficulty, it is that we should never forget the power of community and seek to strengthen our commitment to it. We are staying in so that we can go back out. We are staying apart so that we can get back together.

Together we are stronger.

Kash Rafiq,

Principal
