Nina Dawe - Joint Curriculum Leader of English
Nina qualified as an English teacher in 2010 with a PGCE from The University of Bath and worked in Bristol prior to moving back to her hometown, Huddersfield. She has spent the last five years at Moor End Academy and has enjoyed progressing within the English Faculty, first as a teacher of English followed by Assistant Faculty Leader and currently, Joint Curriculum Leader. During her teaching career, Nina has led teaching and learning coaching programs, mentored trainee teachers, planned and delivered training for recently qualified teachers and has achieved a National Professional Qualification in Middle Leadership.
Prior to studying towards her PGCE, Nina enjoyed a successful career as a Business Manager in the Automotive Industry working for an International company and living in London. She also travelled extensively throughout South-East Asia and New Zealand before deciding to return to her passion for studying English Language and English Literature. This experience has helped Nina approach her teaching with an eye on industry and the future destinations of our students – she is keen to help students develop transferrable skills that will help them grow into confident, articulate and thoughtful communicators, well-equipped to thrive in their chosen careers.
