Welcome to Moor End Academy
Ms Jane Acklam OBE
At Moor End Academy, we are committed to providing our students with the education they need to become confident, articulate, independent learners and thinkers who are ready to take their place in the demanding world of the 21st century. Through the provision of high quality learning opportunities both in the classroom and outside, we demonstrate our determination to create active, healthy and informed citizens of tomorrow.
Because we believe that all our students can achieve well and that everyone has something to contribute to the Academy and wider community, we are committed to meeting the needs of all students. However, our priority as an Academy is simple. We seek to provide a learning environment where every student will meet or exceed their own expectations. Our aim is to ensure that all our students achieve the best possible examination results, develop a passion for lifelong learning, and are equipped to excel in further studies, either academic vocational, or the world of work. We are totally committed to equal opportunities and achievement for all. We believe that all students can succeed and exceed expectations through hard work and commitment.
We are proud of the excellent relationships that exist between staff and students. Within our culturally diverse student body, tolerance, respect and understanding are cornerstones for the strong relationships which exist. Parents and Governors work in partnership with the Academy, as critical friends, in order to ensure that the young people of our community enjoy the highest standard of education.
“The very strong promotion of students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development ensures that they thrive in the supportive and highly cohesive learning community. High aspirations, outstanding teaching and the rich curriculum result in outstanding achievement” OfSted June 2012
We are proud to be a community school which is extremely inclusive. Students from a very wide range of backgrounds learn and develop harmoniously in a culture of mutual respect. We expect nothing less than exemplary student behaviour and we very much believe in the Academy motto “Enjoy and Achieve: Every Day Matters”. The traditional values of courtesy, discipline and respect are important to us and we believe that upholding them will help us to achieve results for all at Moor End Academy.
